Titans Set for Action at UW-Stevens Point and MSOE Invite

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Returning to action after a two-week break, the UW-Oshkosh Titans wrestling squad is set to face the Pointers of UW-Stevens Point in a conference match-up on Dec. 1. Action will get underway at 7 p.m. in Stevens Point, Wis. Both the Titans and Pointers are looking for their first WIAC win this season.

The Titans continue action this weekend, traveling to the MSOE Invitational on Dec. 3. Action is slated to start at 9 a.m. in Milwaukee.

Beau Yineman leads the Titans with a dual record of 10-1 (five pins) at 197. Luc Valdez has recorded an early record of 8-5 (two pins) at 125.

National Rankings

Yineman is ranked at No. 2 at 197 in the NWCA national rankings, released on Nov. 16. In regional rankings, Yineman is ranked No. 2 in the Upper Midwest region at 197 and Valdez is ranked No. 5 at 125 in the same region.

In the poll released on Nov. 28 from D3wrestle.com, Valdez is an honorable mention at 125 while Yineman sits at No. 2 at 197.

The Pointers have two athletes receiving nods from D3wrestle.com as Luca Paladino (Honorable Mention, 125) and Brandon Peckham (Contender, 165) are in the rankings. Paladino and Peckham ranked No. 4 at 125 (Paladino) and 165 (Peckham) in the NWCA regional rankings. The Pointers add Trystan Altensey with the No. 6 regional rank at 184 according to the NWCA.
