Titans to Face Blugolds on the Road

OSHKOSH, Wis.—Taking a five-game win streak on the road, the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball program is set for a midweek matchup at nationally-ranked UW-Eau Claire.

The Titans (15-5, 5-4 WIAC) are set to take on the Blugolds (16-4, 7-2 WIAC) at 7 p.m. in Zorn Arena. The Titans have a 11-3 record away from Kolf, combing away and neutral court games. 

The teams met for the first time this season on January 4 in Oshkosh, where the Blugolds handed the Titans a 62-53 loss. The Titans have posted conference wins over River Falls, La Crosse, Stevens Point, Stout, and Platteville in the month of January.  

Outlook on Oshkosh

The Titans have the third best team field goal percentage in the league, sitting at 41.7%. The Titans are holding their opponents to 38.2% from the field. The Titans are second in the league in made 3-pointers per game, averaging 7.1. At the free throw line, the Titans lead the WIAC in free throw percentage, making 72.9% of attempts. 

Kayce Vaile sits at No. 15 in the league for scoring, averaging 10.3 points per game. Jenna Jorgensen is in the top-20 for scoring with 9.2 points per game. Vaile is second in the league for rebounds, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. Sarah Hardwick, who recorded back-to-back double-doubles in action last week, sits inside the top-15 for rebounding with 5.5 rebounds per game. Ava Douglas sits at 83.6% for free throw percentage, the third best in the WIAC.

Eyeing Eau Claire

Eau Claire leads the WIAC in scoring, averaging 72.9 points per game. Their opponents are averaging 61.5 points per game. Eau Claire leads the WIAC in team field goal percentage 44.3% while their opponents have a field goal percentage of 35.9%. Eau Claire has the best 3-point percentage in the league at 33.2%. Eau Claire leads the league in rebounding, with 41.2 rebounds per game.

Jessie Ruden of Eau Claire leads the league in scoring, averaging 18.4 points per game. Tyra Boettcher leads the WIAC in rebounding with 8.4 rebounds per game. Ruden leads the WIAC in 3-pointers per game (2.5) and free throw percentage (88.5%). Boettcher and Courtney Crouch join Ruden in double-digit scoring, averaging 11 and 10.3 points per game.
