Nationally Ranked Titans Open WIAC Play Against Platteville and Stout

OSHKOSH, Wis.—After starting the season with five of six games on the road, the No. 19/12 UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball squad is set to open WIAC play this week. The Titans will host the Pioneers of UW-Platteville for a 7 p.m. game inside Kolf Sports Center on November 30 in the conference opener.

The Titans will then hit the road as WIAC play continues, traveling to UW-Stout on Dec. 3. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Menomonie.

Oshkosh Numbers

Kayce Vaile leads the Titans offense with 14.5 points per game (ppg). Vaile is currently shooting 53.8% from the field and 66.7% from the charity stripe. Vaile leads the team in rebounds per game, averaging 9.2. Vaile leads the WIAC in rebounds per game. Vaile has recorded three double-doubles this season, including back-to-back double-doubles at the Augustana College Tournament.

Jenna Jorgensen averages 13 ppg (42.2% from the field) while Ava Douglas averages 9.3 ppg (51.2% from the field, 85.7% from the free throw line). Douglas leads the WIAC in free throw percentage.

Sarah Hardwick averages 5.8 rebounds per game, followed by Allison Forney with 4.8 rebounds per game.

The Titans have averaged 68.3 points per game, with 34.2 rebounds. The Titans share the ball with 11.2 assists per game and 6.5 steals. Four of the Titans six wins have come in double-digits as the Titan defense allows 56.7 points per game from their opponents.

Previewing the Pioneers

The Pioneers of Platteville are coming off back-to-back wins at the UW-La Crosse Thanksgiving tournament to move to 3-4 on the season. The Pioneers are averaging 62.3 points per game (33.1 rebounds) and are holding their opponents to 58.7 points per game.

Sarah Mueller (11.1 ppg) and Ella Mackiewicz (10.6 ppg) lead the charge for the Pioneers offense. Leading the rebounding efforts, Mackiewicz averages 6.1 rebounds per game for the Pioneers, while Allison Heckert averages 2.7 assists per game.

Scouting Stout 

The Blue Devils of Stout have won their last three games to start the 2022-23 season with a 3-1 record. The Blue Devils average 64.8 points per game, while holding their opponents to 58.5 points per game.

The Blue Devils have three players averaging double-digit games, led by Raegan Sorensen with 15 ppg. Amanda Giesen (14.3 ppg) and Anna Mutch (11.3 ppg) land in double-digits for the Blue Devils. Giesen and Haylee Yaeger lead the rebounding efforts for the Blue Devils, recording 6.5 boards per game.

National Rankings

In the weekly poll released on Nov. 29 by the WBCA, the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's basketball squad moved into a tied for No. 12 in the nation, alongside UW-Whitewater. 

In the D3hoops.com poll that was released on Nov. 28, the Titans rose to No. 19, up three spots from their preseason rank.

Courtside Seating

Courtside seating is available for the 2022-23 women's basketball seasons. Tickets can be purchased online at uwosh.universitytickets.com. By purchasing a courtside seat, fans will receive one (1) free combo meal (brat, pizza, or hot dog and a drink).
