Three Titans Earn All-Region At NCAA Regional

COLFAX, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh's men's cross country team finished sixth in the NCAA Division III North Regional meet on Saturday (Nov. 11). The meet was hosted by UW-Eau Claire at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax.

The Titans totaled 180 points in a very strong 34 team field. UW-La Crosse won the meet with 33 points, while Christian Patzka from UW-Whitewater won individually with a time of 24:02.0.

The Titans were led by sophomores Cameron Cullen (So. • Kewaunee) and Paul Proteau (So. • Riverside, Ill.). Both Cullen and Proteau were the first Titans of the year to break 25 minutes, with Cullen finishing in 19th place with a time of 24:54.6 and Proteau finishing in 20th with a time of 24:56.0. They both received All-Region honors, along with Jake Krause (Jr. • Hortonville), who finished in 33rd with a personal record of 25:06.0.

Rounding out the point scorers for the Titans were Joe Kehoe (Sr. • Sun Prairie) and Dwight Hosni (Jr. • Cedarburg). Kehoe ran his second fastest time of the year in 25:18.0, placing 37th, and Hosni ran a personal record of 25:44.6 for 71st place.

The Titans sixth runner was Jason Ford (Sr. • Verona), who finished in a season best of 25:58.6 for 82nd place. Joe Freng (So. • Sun Prairie) was seventh for UW-Oshkosh, taking 90th and running a personal record of 26:11.4.

The Titans await a team qualification for the NCAA Division III Championship in Carlisle, Pa. at Big Spring High School next Saturday (Nov. 18), as well as potential individual qualifiers from Cullen and Proteau.
