Men’s Tennis To Open 2014 Season

With 13 matches in the first month, UW-Oshkosh will be busy during the early portion of the 2014 men's tennis season.

The Titans open competition on Saturday (Feb. 15), when they battle Lawrence University and Edgewood College at the YMCA Tennis Center.

UW-Oshkosh has a trio of matches in Elkhorn the following weekend, taking on Lake Forest College (Ill.), UW-Whitewater and Wheaton College (Ill.). Then the Titans visit St. Norbert College on Feb. 24.

From March 1-8, UW-Oshkosh will have home contests against Carthage College, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Concordia University Wisconsin and Carroll University.

The Titans head to Orlando, Fla., for four matches in late March. Opponents for the trip are Webber International University (Fla.), Purchase College (N.Y.), Luther College (Iowa) and Piedmont College (Ga.).

UW-Oshkosh wraps up its home schedule against Ripon College on April 4. The Titans conclude the regular season by meeting UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater on April 18-19 in La Crosse.

Five lettermen return from last year's squad. Kevin Lewis (15-7) and Mike Gillespie (14-8) posted the top singles records, while Gillespie and Aidan Sauberlich teamed up for a 10-4 doubles mark. Other Titans back are Bobby Brooks and Alex Yang.

Kim Evans begins his first season as UW-Oshkosh's head coach. The Titans compiled a 9-13 record during the 2013 campaign.
