Peter Jewell, WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight

Peter Jewell, WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight

Each week during the 2015-16 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday on the WIAC website.

Name: Peter Jewell

Hometown (High School): Muskego, Wis. (Muskego High School)
Year in school: Senior
Sport: Baseball
Major: Finance

Why did you choose to attend UW-Oshkosh?
I chose to attend UW-Oshkosh because I knew it was my place to learn, to lead, and to succeed. It was an easy decision for me because the university has one of the strongest business schools in the state. My opportunity to play the game I love while obtaining a good education made it a no-brainer.

What is the greatest lesson you have learned from being a student-athlete?
Being a student-athlete has taught me so much about accountability. Game day is the expression of the individual's hard work and sacrifice. Assuming both sides have worked hard and endured similar sacrifices, success is often determined by the most accountable team.
