Titans Run To Seventh At NCAA Regional

COLFAX, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh's women's cross country team finished seventh in the NCAA Division III North Regional meet on Saturday (Nov. 11). The meet took place at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, hosted by UW-Eau Claire.

Cyna Madigan (Jr. • Rosendale) once again led the Titans, placing 38th in a time of 22:49.7. Other point scorers for the Titans were Josie Makurat (So. • Fairfax, Va.), Gracie Buchinger (Fr. • Kimberly), Meygan Benzing (Jr. • Juneau) and Libby Geisness (Jr. • Waukesha). Makurat ran her second best time ever, finishing in 42nd place with 23:03.0. Buchinger finished in 55th, running the course in 23:24.2. Benzing and Geisness both finished with a time of 23:31.1, taking 61st and 62nd.

Carleton College (Minn.) won the meet with 48 points, clinching a spot at the NCAA Division III Championship next Saturday (Nov. 18), hosted at Big Spring High School in Carlisle, Pa. Fiona Smith of Saint Benedict College (Minn.) won individually with a time of 20:42.2.

The Titans, finished the season strong by beating 24 other teams in the region, including UW-Whitewater, who beat them at the WIAC conference meet two weeks ago.
