Pointers Outscore Titans In Regular Season Finale

Lauren Urban finished fifth among 20 runners as the UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team closed the regular season portion of its 2021 schedule with a 45-16 loss to UW-Stevens Point Friday (Oct. 22) in Whitewater. 

UW-Stevens Point won the dual meet by owning five of the top six runners in the 6,000-meter race. The meet featured nine participants from UW-Oshkosh, eight from UW-Stevens Point and three from UW-Platteville. All three teams rested several of its top runners in preparation for next Saturday's (Oct. 30) Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship in Colfax. 

Urban crossed the finish line for UW-Oshkosh in a time of 25:21.3 while Titans Logan Krogwold placed seventh in 26:09.0, Madison Bertram 10th in 27:05.3, Alexis Reichardt 11th in 27:06.0 and Julia Strasser 12th in 27:10.7. 

UW-Stevens Point swept the top four individual listings as Olivia Greymont finished first with a time of 24:42.5, Taylor Fuerstenberg second in 24:48.7, Vanessa Olson third in 25:05.6 and Emma Guenther fifth in 25:12.3. 

The Titans also had Katelyn Puetz place 14th with a time of 27:22.7, Olivia Schwarm 15th in 27:45.1, Lauren Young 16th in 28:07.9 and Paige Larson 17th in 28:22.7.
