Lohrenz Second, Titans Ninth At Inter-Regional Rumble

Hannah Lohrenz crossed the finish line in second place to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble held Saturday (Oct. 16) in Oberlin, Ohio.

Lohrenz earned her position among the meet's 305 runners by completing the 6,000-meter race in a time of 21:45.2. Her performance was 31 seconds off the winning time of 21:14.5 recorded by Erica Bultemeyer of Trine University (Ind.).

Megan Aaron of Allegheny College (Pa.) finished third in the individual listings with a time of 22:11.5 while Jana Fisher of Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) placed fourth in 22:14.1 and Alyssa Laughner of Baldwin Wallace University (Ohio) fifth in 22:17.4.

In addition to Lohrenz, the Titans had Alexandria Demco finish 22nd with a time of 23:15.5, Amelia Lehman 59th in 23:56.5, Cyna Madigan 72nd in 24:08.9, Meygan Benzing 81st in 24:20.2, Tricia Cich 130th in 25:09.8 and Sydney Fricke 133rd in 25:11.6.

UW-Oshkosh finished ninth in the 33-team meet with 233 points.

Carnegie Mellon University (Pa.) captured the team title with 121 points while Allegheny College placed second with 139, UW-Stevens Point third with 148, John Carroll University (Ohio) fourth with 168 and Trine University fifth with 170.

Rounding out the top 10 teams were sixth-place Case Western Reserve University with 183 points, seventh-place University of Mount Union (Ohio) with 220, eighth-place Trinity University (Texas) with 224, ninth-place UW-Oshkosh and 10th-place Elmhurst College (Ill.) with 276.

Carnegie Mellon University entered the meet ranked 17th in the NCAA Division III by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, John Carroll University 19th, Allegheny College 22nd, Case Western Reserve University 23rd and Trine University 34th.

UW-Oshkosh will race at the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Open on Friday (Oct. 22).
