Madigan, Lehman Lead Titans at Hoffman Invitational

Cyna Madigan's 31st-place finish highlighted the performance list of the UW-Oshkosh women's cross country team at the UW-Whitewater Tom Hoffman Invitational held Saturday (Sept. 18).

Madigan competed in a field of 155 runners and concluded the 6,000-meter race with a time of 24:49.4.

UW-Oshkosh's Amelia Lehman finished 33rd with a time of 24:51.8 while Titans Tricia Cich placed 51st in 25:48.4, Daisy Wilson 56th in 26:03.6 and Sydney Fricke 63rd in 26:15.2.

UW-Oshkosh, which rested several of its top runners, also had Lauren Young finish 72nd with a time of 26:50.7, Julia Strasser 89th in 27:33.2, Logan Krogwold 96th in 27:49.3, Madison Bertram 107th in 28:32.4, Alexis Reichardt 109th in 28:34.9, Katelyn Puetz 111th in 28:41.2, Olivia Schwarm 119th in 29:32.7 and Paige Larson 141st in 31:13.3. 

The Titans finished seventh in the team competition with 158 points.

Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.), ranked second in the NCAA Division III by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, won the 13-team meet with a perfect score of 15 points.

The Bears swept the top five individual finishes as Emma Walter placed first with a time of 23:01.3, Kiera Olson second in 23:05.9, Emily Konkus third in 23:10.8, Lindsay Ott fourth in 23:20.4 and Sophie Young fifth in 23:24.5.

Following Washington University in St. Louis in the team standings were second-place UW-Stevens Point with 71 points, third-place and NCAA Division 1 member UW-Green Bay with 76, fourth-place UW-Whitewater with 129 and fifth-place Aurora University (Ill.) with 153. 

UW-Oshkosh is idle until it races at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational on Oct. 1 in Colfax.
