Ellmann Tabbed For AVCA Division III Coach Of The Year

LEXINGTON, Ky.- UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball head coach Jon Ellmann was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Coach of the Year on Wednesday (Nov. 29).

Ellmann, who is currently in his sixth season at the helm of the women's volleyball program in Oshkosh, owns a 145-59 record headed into the NCAA Division III Quarterfinal round matchup against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday (Nov. 29). He guided the Titans to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2009. His squad finished the regular season with a perfect 33-0 record and set the WIAC winning streak record at 34 matches after sweeping UW-Eau Claire in the WIAC semifinal on Nov. 9.

Oshkosh has recorded 22 sweeps so far this season, including its first win over UW-Whitewater since 2015 and first sweep of the Warhawks since 1994 on Sept. 20. Another notable regular season win came on Oct. 13 at Washington University in St. Louis (Mo.). After entering the match 0-15 all-time against the Bears, the Titans pulled off a reverse sweep to retain an unblemished record.

The Titans hosted the regional rounds in Oshkosh, clearing the first three rounds with 3-0 wins over Greenville University (Ill.) and Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) before registering a 3-1 win over the University of La Verne (Calif.) in the regional championship.

Ellmann was previously named both the AVCA Region 8 and WIAC Coach of the Year for his leadership of the 2022 and 2023 squads.
