Titans To Host NCAA Volleyball Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- As the NCAA announced the 2023 bracket on Monday (Nov. 13), the UW-Oshkosh women's volleyball team learned that it will start the tournament with home court advantage.

The Titans (34-1), who gained a spot in the tournament as an at-large bid will host seven teams from six different states in the three-day regional on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Nov. 16-18).

The winner of the Oshkosh Regional joins seven other regional champions in the quarterfinal round of the 64-team NCAA Division III Championship on Nov. 29 in Claremont, California.

Greenville University (Ill.) (23-10) qualified as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament winner. Calvin University (Mich.) (22-7) qualified as an at-large bid. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) (25-6) qualified as the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions. Otterbein University (Ohio) (23-8) also qualified as conference tournament champions, winning the Ohio Athletic Conference. Another at-large entry to the tournament was the University of La Verne (Calif.), which finished the season with a 23-4 record. North Park University (Ill.) (25-6) qualified as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin tournament winners. East Texas Baptist University (25-3) is the fifth conference champions in the Oshkosh Regional, winning the American Southwest Conference.

Otterbein will face La Verne in the first match of the regional at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. North Park against East Texas Baptist and Calvin against Gustavus Adolphus will play in the 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. slots, followed by Oshkosh against Greenville in the final match of the day at 7 p.m.

The first Friday match will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the winner of the Otterbein-La Verne match facing off against the winner of the North Park-East Texas Baptist match. The team that wins the Oshkosh-Greenville bout will compete against the Calvin-Gustavus Adolphus victor at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, the second-round winners will play at 5 p.m. for the right to one of eight teams to advance to championship weekend.

Tickets for the regional event in Oshkosh will be cash only. The ticket window will open one hour before the first match of each day and remain open until after the final match of the day begins.
