Kindt And Mau Join Exclusive Clubs As Titans Sweep Vikings In Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, Wis.- Riley Kindt reached 1,000 kills and Kalli Mau got to 2,000 assists in the UW-Oshkosh volleyball team's sweep of North Park University in the UW-Stevens Point Papa Johns Invite on Saturday (Oct. 21).

Riley Kindt (Sr. • Brookfield) joined the 1,000 kills club with 10 (1,008) and Kalli Mau (Sr. • Kimberly) joined the 2,000 assists club with 15 (2,004) as the Titans (28-0, 5-0 WIAC) swept the Vikings (19-5, 6-0 CCIW) in sets of 25-23, 25-14 and 25-14.

Robyn Kirsch (Jr. • Wausau) also hit 10 kills in the match and Izzy Coon (So. • Fond du Lac) also notched 15 assists. Abby Fregien (Jr. • Waukesha) led the Titans with 11 digs as Riley Dahlquist blocked 2.5 attacks.

UW-Oshkosh trailed North Park until tying the first set up at 9-9 and went on a 4-point spurt for its first lead. The Titans and Vikings remained close for the rest of the set until a solo block by Dahlquist and a block by Dahlquist and Maddy Pearson (Sr. • Kimberly) scored the final two points for Oshkosh.

An early 4-point run to make the score 6-2 and that was the last lead the Titans need in the second set. After two more three point runs, Oshkosh went up 2-0 on a Viking attack error.

Oshkosh scored first in the third set and never looked back. North Park was able to tie the set up three times before a 5-0 run gave the Titans a 12-7 advantage. A 6-point spurt put the set and match away before Oshkosh scored its 20 point, but Kirsch, Dahlquist and Olivia Breunig (Jr. • Sauk Prairie) officially wrapped up the night on back-to-back-to-back kills.

Kindt was named to her third All-Tournament Team of the season after the tournament concluded. She was joined by UW-Platteville's Maddie Cooley, Cornell College's Grace Marti, North Park's Jenna Jones and Stevens Point's Sydney Mosinski.

The Titans will return home for a 7 p.m. matchup with UW-Platteville (19-6, 4-1 WIAC) at Kolf Sports Center on Wednesday (Oct. 25).
