Titans Open WIAC Championship At La Crosse

UW-Oshkosh visits UW-La Crosse for the first round of the WIAC Women's Volleyball Championship on Tuesday (Nov. 5). The fourth-seeded Eagles and fifth-seeded Titans are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Hall.

The winner of Tuesday's match travels to regular-season champion UW-Stevens Point (29-4) on Friday. The final will be Saturday in Stevens Point, with the winner earning a bid to the NCAA Division III Championship.

In their meeting on Oct. 23, UW-La Crosse defeated the Titans in five sets. UW-Oshkosh had won the previous eight matchups between the teams.

UW-Oshkosh owns a 22-10 record and has captured nine of its last 11 matches overall. Katelyn Malcheski tops the squad with 362 kills, while Alison Tomczyk has 631 assists and Mandy Trautmann 620 digs. Nerissa Vogt (99) and Hayley Rickmeier (89) are the Titans' leading blockers.

The Eagles (14-13) have alternated wins and losses since Oct. 12. Their statistical leaders include Lauren Probst with 322 kills, Cassie Raduka with 1,065 assists, Courtney Geisler with 364 digs and Kayla Ashland with 96 blocks.

UW-Oshkosh won WIAC Tournament titles in 1990, 1991, 1994 and 2008.
