Titans Snag Muskies In Home Finale

OSHKOSH, Wis- The UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team delivered a 6-3 victory over Lakeland University in its second spring match of season on Saturday (Apr. 13).

The Titans (10-3, 3-3 WIAC) claimed two of the three doubles matches over Lakeland (6-4, 5-4 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference). Olivia Pethan (Fr. • Oshkosh) and Alysa Pattee (Jr. • Waupun) outscored Olivia Heling and Kassidee Webb 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles match. Ella Nguyen (So. • Oshkosh) and Courtney Carpenter (So. • Oshkosh) were defeated in the No. 2 doubles by Mary Blossom and Baylee Babcock by a score of 8-7. In doubles set No. 3, Kayla Gibbs (Fr. • Muskego) and Jameson Gregory (Fr. • Delavan) topped Sadie Conway and Sydnee Conway with a final score of 8-1.

In the No. 1 singles position, Pethan beat Heling (6-3, 6-0), Pattee pushed the No. 2 singles to three matches and outscored Blossom (4-6, 6-1, 10-5) and Nguyen went three sets in the No. 3 but was defeated by Babcock (3-6, 6-2, 7-10). Gregory claimed a win over Webb (6-4, 6-1) in the No. 4 singles, Gibbs overcame Sadie Conway (6-1, 6-2) in the No. 5 singles, and Hannah Stitt (Sr. • Baldwin) was overcome in the No. 6 singles by Sydnee Conway (5-7, 5-7).

Titans will return to the court for an away match at North Park University (Ill.) on Saturday (April 20). The matches are expected to start at 2 p.m.
