Titans Claim Second Win Of The Weekend

OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's tennis won its second match of the weekend, shutting out UW-Stout at home on Sunday (Oct. 15).

The Titans (8-3, 3-3 WIAC) swept all three doubles matches over the Blue Devils (1-9, 1-5 WIAC), starting the No. 1 doubles match with Olivia Pethan and Alysa Pattee outscoring Ellie Becker and Ella Lamppa 8-1. In the No. 2 doubles, Ella Nguyen and Courtney Carpenter shut out blue devils Ashlyn Dellemann and Lexie Stein 8-0. Jameson Gregory and Kayla Gibbs delivered another 8-0 shut out against Halle Bruggeman and Megan Kokesh in the No. 3 flight.

Oshkosh also swept all of the singles contests. Pethan outscored Becker (6-4, 6-4) in the No. 1 singles, Pattee claimed the No. 2 singles against Dellemann (6-1, 6-4), Nguyen beat Stein (6-1, 6-0) in the No. 3 singles, Gregory beat Lamppa (6-2, 6-0) in the No. 4 singles, and Gibbs beat Claire Dicke (6-1, 6-1) in the No. 6 singles. Jenna Nolde started the No. 5 match off 5-1 before Bruggeman withdrew due to injury.

The Titans will head to Nielsen Tennis Stadium for the annual WIAC Championship in Madison next. The tournament starts at 1 p. m. on Saturday (Oct. 21) and will continue Sunday (Oct. 22) at 9 a.m.
