Titans Headed to WIAC Championships on Saturday
OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team is headed down to the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison for the WIAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday, hosted by UW-La Crosse.
Looking at the Titans
The Titans are coming off a 5-4 victory over UW-Stout which came down to the No. 5 singles match between the Titans' Hannah Stitt and the Blue Devils' Madeline Binczak. Stitt posted scores of 6-7 (4), 6-1 and 7-6 (4) over the course of the three-hour long marathon match.
Cordelia Damkot and Louisa Damkot won their No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches.
Alysa Pattee and Alexandra Schmoldt defeated UW-Stout (8-3) in the No. 1 doubles slot. The Damkot sisters won over the Blue Devils in the No. 2 doubles slot with an 8-2 victory.
WIAC Singles Championships Schedule
Alysa Pattee (#7) takes on Clare Palen (#2) of UW-Eau Claire in the first round of the No. 1 singles tournament.
6th seeded Alexandra Schmoldt will face UW-Stevens Point's 3rd seeded Tristin Jantz in the first round of the No. 2 singles tournament.
In the first round of the No. 3 singles tournament, Louisa Damkot (#5) faces Faith Leithold (#4) of UW-Stevens Point.
4th seeded Cordelia Damkot will face UW-La Crosse's 5th seeded Ani Bulbulian in the first round of the No. 4 singles tournament.
Jenna Nolde (#6) takes on Maya Kunze (#3) of UW-Stevens Point in the first round of the No. 5 singles tournament.
Hannah Stitt, ranked sixth, will face Sydney Presler (UW-Eau Claire), ranked third, in the first round of the No 6 singles tournament.
WIAC Doubles Championships Schedule
Over in the No. 1 doubles tournament, Alysa Pattee and Alexandra Schmoldt (#5) will face Quinlyn Mack and Tristin Jantz of UW-Stevens Point (#4) in the first round.
Courtney Carpenter and Jenna Nolde (#5) will face UW-La Crosse's Susi Hu and Ani Bulbulian (#4) in the No. 2 doubles tournament.
The Damkot sisters, Louisa and Cordelia (#7) face Morgan Dekan and Sydney Presler (#2) in the first round of the No. 3 doubles tournament.
Competition begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. There is no admission charge if you enter the building after Noon on Saturday.
