UWO Tennis Dominates Green Knights
DE PERE, Wis.–The UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team won all six flights of singles and two of the three doubles matches en route to an 8-1 victory over St. Norbert College on Saturday (Sept. 17) at the Green Bay Tennis Center.
UW-Oshkosh (2-0), which has won five straight meetings with St. Norbert (0-6), improves to 27-8 overall in the series with the Green Knights since 1985.
The Titans swept the singles matches as Alysa Pattee won at No. 1, 6-0, 1-6, 15-13, over St. Norbert's Hannah Starr.
Winning singles matches for the Titans in straight sets were Alexandra Schmoldt over Emma Merrill (6-1, 6-3) at No. 2, Louisa Damkot over Megan Pankow (6-1, 6-3) at No. 3, Jenna Nolde over Alyssa Tegen (6-2, 6-1) at No. 5 and Hannah Stitt over Ella Baars (6-1, 6-0) at No. 6. UW-Oshkosh's Cordelia Damkot won by default over Paige Diercks at No. 4.
In doubles action UW-Oshkosh earned wins from Nolde and Courtney Carpenter over Diercks and Pankow (8-2) at No. 2, and Cordelia and Louisa Damkot over Baars and Tegen (8-1) at No. 3.
St. Norbert's lone match win was at No. 1 Doubles as Merrill and Starr slipped past Pattee and Schmoldt, 8-3.
UW-Oshkosh travels to Ripon College for a nonconference dual match Tuesday (Sept. 20).
