Titans Fall One-Point Short In Loss To Raiders

Jenna Nolde and Michelle Spicer combined for three UW-Oshkosh victories during the Titans' 5-4 loss to the Milwaukee School of Engineering women's tennis team Wednesday (Sept. 22) at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Tennis Courts.

Nolde teamed with Spicer to defeat Cameron Larson and Karley Way, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles before earning a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Cierra Smith at No. 2 singles. Spicer followed her doubles victory with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-0 win over Larson at No. 1 singles.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (5-3) went ahead of UW-Oshkosh (0-3) right from the start as Michaela Haensgen and Yuti Modi won on a forfeit at No. 3 doubles while Smith and Gabrielle Haensgen posted an 8-2 victory over Alessandra Rivera and Hannah Stitt at No. 2 doubles.

Following a forfeit to Gabrielle Haensgen at No. 6 singles, Milwaukee School of Engineering extended its lead over the Titans to 4-1 on Michaela Haensgen's 6-3, 6-1 decision over Angie Carini at No. 5 singles.

UW-Oshkosh then cut its deficit to the Raiders to 4-2 on Stitt's 6-0, 6-2 win over Brenna Sheehan at No. 4 singles.

Milwaukee School of Engineering clinched its victory over the Titans in the next contest as Modi defeated Rivera, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.

UW-Oshkosh made it a one-point loss (5-4) to the Raiders with individual wins by Spicer and Nolde in the final two battles.

The Titans are off until they host UW-Stevens Point next Wednesday (Sept. 29) at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Tennis Courts.
