Three Titans Earn Multiple Wins In Michigan

Kelley Hodyl, Samantha Koppa and Lesley Kutnink paced UW-Oshkosh with two victories each in the Singles B Draw of the Hope College (Mich.) Women's Tennis Invitational held Friday and Saturday (Sept. 15-16) in Holland, Mich.

Hodyl compiled a 2-2 record with wins of 6-1, 7-5 over Erin LaBarge of Hope College and 6-3, 6-1 over Sydney Ellsworth of Calvin College (Mich.). Hodyl also lost decisions of 6-0, 6-0 to Olivia Hanover of NCAA Division II Grand Valley State University (Mich.) and 3-6, 6-1, 10-3 to Alexis Bonner of Calvin College.

Koppa won two of her four contests, including decisions of 6-2, 6-2 over LaBarge and 6-0, 6-3 over Lark Foote of Calvin College. Koppa's two defeats were by scores of 6-1, 6-0 to Hanover and 6-0, 6-0 to Rachel Sumner of Grand Valley State University.

Kutnink also tallied a 2-2 record during her four matches. She posted victories of 4-6, 6-3, 12-10 over Mary DeVries of Hope College and 6-2, 6-3 over Ellsworth. Kutnink suffered her two losses by results of 6-1, 6-7 (0-4), 12-10 to Foote and 6-2, 6-0 to Bonner.

The Singles B Draw also had Titans Ashlee Polena register a 0-3 record and Monica Micoliczyk a 0-4 mark.

During the Singles A Draw portion of the tournament, UW-Oshkosh's Alyssa Leffler posted a 1-2 record while Hannah Peters went winless in two matches and Bailey Sagen winless in four.

Leffler earned her lone victory with a 6-4, 0-6, 10-5 decision over Madeline Brouwer of Calvin College. Leffler's defeats were by scores of 6-3, 6-1 to Aimee Moccia and 6-1, 6-0 to Madison Ballard of Grand Valley State University.

In doubles play, four UW-Oshkosh tandems combined to lose all nine of their contests.

The Doubles A Draw saw Peters and Sagen tally a 0-2 record and Koppa and Leffler a 0-1 mark. In the Doubles B Draw, Hodyl and Kutnink and Micoliczyk and Polena both went winless in three matches.

No team scores were kept at the event.

UW-Oshkosh is idle until playing a dual match at Lawrence University on Sept. 26.
