Titans Have Little Trouble With Raiders

UW-Oshkosh won all 12 games in three flights of singles play as it rolled to a 9-0 victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering women's tennis team on Thursday (Sept. 12) at the Kolf Sports Center Complex.

Winning by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Titans were Erica Van Riper at No. 4 singles, Llora Waldman at No. 5 and Andrea Larson at No. 6. Van Riper defeated Ashley Albrecht, while Waldman ousted Melanie Avery and Larson banished Emily Dvorsky.

Morgan Counts lost only one game at No. 1 singles as she posted a 6-1, 6-0 win over Marly Trier. She also teamed with Van Riper to register an 8-4 victory over Trier and Michelle Roubik at No. 1 doubles.

UW-Oshkosh (2-1) concluded singles play with wins by Brianna Theobald in the second flight and Valerie Langkau in the third. Theobald won by 6-1, 6-1 scores over Roubik, while Langkau won by 6-1, 6-3 results over Michelle Lee.

Other doubles winners for the Titans were Langkau and Theobald in the second flight and Larson and Hannah Bostwick in the third. Langkau and Theobald defeated Albrecht and Lee, 8-3, while Bostwick and Larson ousted Avery and Dvorsky, 8-1.

UW-Oshkosh's victory extended the losing streak for the Milwaukee School of Engineering (1-7) to seven consecutive contests.

The Titans host Cornell College (Iowa) and St. Norbert College on Saturday (Sept. 14) to conclude a string of five straight home matches at the Kolf Sports Center Complex.
