Division II Vikings Have Little Trouble With Titans

Emily Bostwick (Sr. • Whitefish Bay) and Lauren Piotrowski (So. • Greendale) won at No. 1 doubles as UW-Oshkosh suffered an 8-1 women's tennis loss to NCAA Division II Augustana College (S.D.) on Monday (March 19) in Orlando, Fla.

Bostwick and Piotrowski earned UW-Oshkosh's lone team point with a narrow 9-8 victory over Kathryn Jesperson and Michelle Wadas.

Augustana College took the remaining doubles contests as Hannah Gebauer and Heather Sullivan won the second flight and Adrienne Conley and Gabrielle Kachena the third. Gebauer and Sullivan defeated Morgan Counts (So. • Oshkosh) and Preslee Nolte (Fr. • Warren, N.J.), 8-1, while Conley and Kachena ousted Karlie Laveau (Fr. • Waukesha) and Erica Van Riper (Fr. • Waukesha), 8-4.

The Vikings (13-2) swept all six singles contests, including Jesperson's 6-0, 6-1 victory over Bostwick in the first flight and Gebauer's 6-2, 6-1 triumph over Nolte in the second.

Other individual winners for Augustana College were Sullivan in the third flight, Liz Lewis in the fourth, Jessica Spalding in the fifth and Conley in the sixth. Sullivan marked a 6-2, 6-2 win over Counts and Lewis a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Laveau. Spalding recorded a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Van Riper and Conley a 6-0, 6-0 win over Llora Waldman (Fr. • Wausau).

UW-Oshkosh (7-6) takes to the court against Hope College (Mich.) on Tuesday (March 20) in Orlando.
