Titans' Doubles Domination Sweeps Ripon College

Each UW-Oshkosh doubles team lost a single game as the Titans' women's tennis squad posted a 9-0 decision over Ripon College on Wednesday (Sept. 22) at Kolf Sports Center.

UW Oshkosh showed no remorse as its doubles teams continued to be a force. In the third flight, Megan Etten (Fr. • Howard) and Megan Saari (Fr. • Oshkosh) challenged their competitors before winning, 8-1. Alongside, No. 2 Lauren Piotrowski (Fr. • Greendale) and Whitney Tornow (Sr. • Neenah) also claimed a victory of 8-1, while No. 1 Emily Bostwick (Jr. • Whitefish Bay) and Liz Leffler (Jr. • Racine) ended their triumph with an 8-1 tally.

No. 2 Bostwick repeated with yet another win against Ripon College with her triumph of 6-0, 6-0. She was not alone, as No. 6 Tornow also gained an amazing result of 6-3, 6-2.

In the fifth singles flight, No. 5 Piotrowski conquered her opponent by a count of 6-1, 6-0. The Titans' No. 1, Brianna Theobold (Fr. • Manitowoc), was able to notch a great victory with her scoreboard showing of 6-0, 6-1.

Eva Counsell (Jr. • Elkhorn), the No. 3 singles competitor, climbed her way to a 6-3, 6-1 success. Then No. 1 Leffler added the final victory against a Red Hawk with a margin of 6-0, 6-2.
