Titans Take Revenge on Falcons

Lauren Piotrowski (Fr. • Greendale) and Whitney Tornow (Sr. • Neenah) remained undefeated in both doubles and singles play as the UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team earned a 6-3 win over UW-River Falls on Saturday (Sept 25).

Tornow's smashing serve earned her a score of 6-2, 6-0 against the Falcons' Lizzie Johnson. No. 5 Piotrowski then found her way to the top against Maggie Kregness, 6-0, 6-0.

Then the No.1 team of Emily Bostwick (Jr. • Whitefish Bay) and Liz Leffler (Jr. • Racine) jumped to a win of 8-0 in its match. The doubles group of Megan Saari (Fr. • Oshkosh) and Megan Etten (Fr. • Howard) participated in an intense battle that would end with its first loss (9-7) of the season.

No. 2 Bostwick posted another win of 6-1, 6-3 for the singles. Brianna Theobold (Fr. • Manitowoc) then kept her undefeated singles record intact with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph. Next up was No. 3 Eva Counsell (Jr. • Elkhorn), who gave a valiant effort in her 6-0, 7-6 setback. No. 1 Leffler rounded out the results with her loss (6-2, 6-3).
