Priestley Breaks Albee Pool Record Against Eagles

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's Swimming & Diving took a defeat on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 20) to UW-La Crosse at Albee Hall in a score of 203-97.

In the loss to the Eagles, the Titans took home wins in four of their events with one second place individual finish and two third place finishes.

Abbi Priestley (So. • Neenah) took home wins in the 1- and 3- meter diving events with scores of 274.50 and 285.65. Her 3-meter diving score broke her own pool record.

The 200-yard medley relay squad of Francesca Schiro (Jr. • New Glarus), Bella Cichon (Fr. • Manhattan, Ill.), Cadence Showalter (Sr. • Naperville, Ill.) and Amanda Richards (Jr. • Waterford) won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.30.

Schiro and Cichon took home a combined three wins in individual events. Cichon claimed first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.90 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:34.50. Schiro won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.01 seconds.

Richards and Showalter finished second and third in the 100-yard backstroke with times of 1:04.01 and 1:04.38, respectively while Brianna Smith (Sr. • Waterford) finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a 19:27.13 finish.

The Titans will host their last meet of the season at Albee Hall next Saturday (Jan. 27) against Loras College (Iowa). The meet will start at 1 p.m.
