Titans Finish Third In Gene Davis Invitational

APPLETON, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team finished third in the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 11) with 497.5 points.

The Titans grabbed 17 top-5 finishes, including two event wins and a school record from Abbi Priestley (So. • Neenah).

Priestley once again won both the 1- and 3-meter diving events with scores of 456.68 and 440.85, respectively. Her score in the 1-meter diving broke her previous school record in 11 tries of 455.80.

UW-Oshkosh collected five second-place finishes in Appleton, including two from Bella Cichon (Fr. • Manhattan, Ill.). She raced the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.33 and the 200-yard in 2:39.27. Amanda Richards (Jr. • Waterford) finished the 50-yard freestyle in 26.44, Bee Ecklund (Fr. • Elgin, Ill.) finished the 200-yard backstroke in 2:19.70 and Maya Indiraraj (So. • West Bend) completed the 1-meter diving with 343.95 points.

The Titans grabbed third in the 200-yard freestyle medley, 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle medley relays with times of 1:47.03, 1:56.87 and 4:01.75.

Brianna Wesenberg (So. • Ripon) swam for fourth in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.84. Sienna Della-Peruta (Fr. • Grayslake, Ill.) and Brianna Smith (Sr. • Waterford) also took fourth in the 400-yard IM and 1,650-yard freestyle with times of 5:07.50 and 19:42.86, respectively.

Smith, Della-Peruta and Richards also grabbed fifth places finishes. Smith took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:40.90, Della-Peruta in the 200-yard IM (2:23.39) and Richards in the 100-yard freestyle (58.52). Elizabeth Fritz (Fr. • Mokena, Ill.) collected the Titans' final top-5 finish with a 20:34.70 in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
The Titans return to action at St. Norbert College next Saturday (Nov. 18) for a 1 p.m. start.
