Four Titans Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

OSHKOSH, Wis.-.Four members of the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving program were named to the College Sports Communicators (formerly College Sports Information Directors of America or CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, February 28. Grace Fergus, Francesca Schiro, Cadence Showalter, and Brianna Smith earned Academic All-District honors.

Fergus holds a 3.66 GPA in psychology and was part of a relay squad that broke a school record at the conference meet. Fergus has a been a member of numerous academic honor rolls and holds the fastest times in the 100 and 200 backstroke for the Titans.

Schiro broke six total records at the conference meet and was the 200 freestyle champion. Schiro holds a 3.63 GPA in a elementary education. Schiro swam a NCAA B qualifying time in the 100 freestyle and has assisted in the creation of sports camps for underprivileged youth.

Smith holds a 3.97 GPA in rehabilitation science and was a member of the 400 and 800 freestyle relays that broke school records. Smith placed inside the top-8 in several distance events at conference and was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team at conference.

Showalter holds a 3.63 GPA in graphic design. Showalter broke the school record in the 100 butterfly at the WIAC championships and was a member of the 400 and 800 freestyle relays that broke school records.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes swimming & diving honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-March.
