Titans Win Regular Season Finale; Divers Compete at UIC

RIPON, Wis./CHICAGO—Several season best times were set as the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving team defeated Ripon College in the final regular season dual, 114-87. The Titan divers also competed at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Diving Invitational.

Francesca Schiro was the lone Titan to compete in the 200 freestyle, timing in at 2:00.75 for the top finish. Schiro claimed the top spot in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.88

Grace Fergus led all racers in the 200 IM with a new season best time of 2:27.64. Fergus claimed the top spot in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:06.38.

In the 1000 freestyle, Brianna Smith shaved 14 seconds off her previous season best with a time of 11:24.72 to lead all competitors. Angela Satterlee clocked in at 13:04.60 in the race, swimming a new season best by nearly 20 seconds. Smith led all swimmers in the 500 freestyle, with a time of 5:36.99. Satterlee claimed a time of 6:33.03 in the 500 freestyle.

In the 100 butterfly, Brianna Wesenberg swam to a first place finish with a time of 1:06.05. Wesenberg took second in the 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:18.50.

Satterlee represented the Titans in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 30.70

In the 200 freestyle relay, Schiro, Smith, Wesenberg, and Fergus teamed up for a time of 1:46.14, a season best for the team.

Abbi Priestley led the Oshkosh divers on the 3-meter diving board, six dives, with a score of 223.25 at the UIC Invitational and a top-15 finish. Maya Indiraraj recorded a dive score of 177.85 on the 3-meter board, six dives.  Priestley led the Oshkosh divers on the 1-meter board, six dives, with a score of 196.05 for a top-20 finish. Indiraraj scored a 167.80 while Gia Migliorese scored a 138.80 in the event.

Against Ripon College, Priestley and Indiraraj were the only divers to compete with scores of 245.10 and 206.62 on the 3-meter board. Priestley won the 1-meter diving with a score of 273.67, a season best. Indiraraj took second with a score of 205.12 while Migliorese scored a 141.60.

The Titans are next in action for the WIAC Championships, February 15-18 in Brown Deer.
