Smith Grabs Two First Place Finishes as Titans Fall to Pointers
OSHKOSH, Wis.—In a conference dual, the UW-Oshkosh Titans fell to the UW-Stevens Point Pointers, 146-69. Brianna Smith collected two first place finishes for the Titans.
Smith led all swimmers in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyles, timing in at 2:06.35 and 5:39.99 respectively.
In the 100 backstroke, Cadence Showalter clocked in at 1:02.60 for the Titans. Showalter swam a time of 2:15.77 in the 200 backstroke. Both of Showalter's times were season bests.
Competing in the 100 breaststroke for the Titans, Brianna Wesenberg and Grace Fergus grabbed times of 1:16.51 and 1:19.26.
Wesenberg swam in the 100 butterfly, recording a time of 1:05.69, a season best time.
Leading the way on the diving boards, Abbi Priestley recorded a score of 265.05 on the 1-meter boards. Maya Indiraraj collected a top-3 finish with a score of 182.05, while Lexi Johnson had a score of 155.30 on the 1-meter boards. Johnson and Priestley recorded season best dives. On the 3-meter boards, Priestley recorded a dive score of 280 to lead all divers and recorded a season best time. Indiraraj scored a 205.50 for a top-3 finish on the 3-meter boards. Priestley's 3-meter dive score was a pool record for Albee Hall.
In the 200 medley relay, Showalter, Francesca Schiro, Wesenberg, and Smith timed in at 1:57.42, a season best time. In the 200 freestyle relay, Showalter, Wesenberg, Smith, and Schiro teamed up for a time of 1:44.36.
The Titans return to action on January 14, hosting Carthage College at 1 p.m.
