Schiro and Priestley Finish in First Place for the Titans

KENOSHA, Wis.—Six Titans claimed top-3 finishes as the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving program concluded action at the Carthage Classic this evening. The Titans finished seventh out of nine teams at the classic.  

Francesca Schiro took home top honors in the 200 freestyle, clocking in at 1:56.50 and nearly broke the school record. Brianna Smith collected a top-15 finish, swimming a 2:04.47 in the event. Angela Satterlee swam a 2:18.66 in the race for the Titans.

Schiro captured runner-up honors in the 100 freestyle, timing in at 53.71 for a season best time.

Cadence Showalter took third place with season best time of 59.08 in the 100 butterfly, nearly breaking the school record. Showalter was joined in the top-8 by Grace Fergus, clocking in at 1:02.56.

Showalter grabbed third place in the 200 butterfly, swimming a 2:15.06 for a season best time.

Fergus clocked in at 1:03.87 in the 100 backstroke, claiming a spot in the top-15. In the 200 backstroke, Fergus captured a top-10 spot with a time of 2:17.16.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Showalter, Fergus, Brianna Smith, and Schiro finished in fourth place with a time of 3:43.08. In the 200 medley relay, Fergus, Brianna Wesenberg, Showalter, Schiro finished in 10th place, timing in at 1:56.76.

Wesenberg competed in the 400 IM for the Titans, taking home a top-20 spot with a time of 5:08.75.

In diving action for the Titans, Abbi Priestley led all divers on the 1 and 3-meter boards. In 1-meter diving, Priestley recorded a score of 452.75. On the 3-meter boards, Priestley recorded a score of 441.65. Maya Indiraraj claimed third place on the 1-meter boards (281.60 score) and second on the 3-meter boards (331.20 score). Lexi Johnson finished in fifth place on the 1-meter boards, recording a score of 255.85.

In the 1650 freestyle, Smith claimed a top-8 spot with a time of 18:52.34. Satterlee joined Smith in the distance race, clocking in at 21:40.32. Both Smith and Satterlee recorded season best times.

The Titans return to pool on January 7, 2023, as they host Lawrence University at 1 p.m. in Albee Hall.
