Schiro Grabs First Place Finishes in Appleton

APPLETON, Wis.—Francesca Schiro nabbed two first place finishes for the UW-Oshkosh Titans women's swimming and diving program as the Titans competed at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational.

Schiro took top honor in the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:59.73 for a season best. Schiro would take the top spot in the 100 freestyle, clocking in at 55.01.

Abbi Priestley and Maya Indiraraj led all competitors in the 1-meter diving, recording scores of 455.80 (Priestley) and 318.95 (Indiraraj). The duo of Titans repeated their 1-2 finish on the 3-meter boards with scores of 456.55 (Priestley) and 333.10 (Indiraraj).

Cadence Showalter took third in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:31.69. Brianna Smith finished in the top-8 of the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:51.14. Both Showalter and Smith's times were season bests.

Showalter took third in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 1:04.31 for a season best.

Schiro, Brianna Wesenberg, Showalter, and Smith swam to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, timing in at 2:02.16. Schiro, Showalter, Smith, and Angela Satterlee swam to a third place finish in the 400 freestyle, combining for a time of 4:01.98.

In the 200 IM and 400 IM, Wesenberg swam a 2:28.42 (200 IM) and 5:11.44 for third place finishes. Wesenberg competed for the Titans in the 200 butterfly, swimming a 2:37.51.

Smith swam to a top-5 finish in the 1650 freestyle, clocking in at 20:22.45 for the Titans.

The Titans return to action, hosting St. Norbert College on Nov. 19 in Albee Hall.
