Showalter Named WIAC Swimming Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh freshman Cadence Showalter was chosen as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.

Showalter's latest WIAC weekly award was for meets held Jan. 31-Feb. 6. She previously earned league recognition for the periods of Nov. 8-14 and Nov. 29-Dec. 5.

Showalter won three events and swam on a first-place relay during UW-Oshkosh's 139-103 home victory over Ripon College on Feb. 5.

Showalter swam to winning times of 5:32.43 in the 500-yard freestyle and 1:06.10 in the 100- and 2:20.72 in the 200-yard butterfly events. She also helped teammates Moriah Drabenstadt, Emma Hall and Francesca Schiro to a first-place performance of 3:52.03 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

UW-La Crosse's Erika Hysalliu was selected as the WIAC Kwik Trip Women's Diving Athlete of the Week.
