Five Titans Earn Multiple Listings At Wisconsin College Showcase

McKinzie Halkola finished in the top 16 in three events while Sydney Challoner ranked in the top 12 in two to pace the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team at the Wisconsin College Showcase held Saturday (Oct. 21) in Brown Deer.

The non-scoring meet featured swimmers from nine Wisconsin collegiate programs, including NCAA Division I members UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh's conference (WIAC) rivals UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater.

Halkola earned her trio of listings by finishing 11th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.91, 13th in the 500-yard freestyle with a performance of 5:40.74 and 16th in the 200-yard backstroke with an effort of 2:19.88.

Challoner recorded UW-Oshkosh's highest finish with her 10th-place swim of 2:24.54 in the 200-yard butterfly. She also placed 12th in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:22.78.

Rebecca Birriel, Jennifer Lutz and Tessa Shorten were other multiple top 20 finishers for the Titans.

Birriel placed 11th in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:15.63 and 18th in the 200-yard individual medley with a performance of 2:25.60 while Lutz finished 11th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:24.61 and 18th in the 100-yard butterfly with an effort of 1:02.31. Shorten ranked 12th in the 100- and 20th in the 50-yard freestyle with times of 57.15 and 26.00 seconds, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh also received 19th-place finishes from Alison Panske and Emma Wilcher. Panske posted a time of 58.06 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle while Wilcher recorded a time of 2:40.51 in the 200-yard butterfly.

The diving events featured UW-Oshkosh's Gabrielle Kraus finishing 12th and Johnna Seelman 17th in the 1-meter category with scores of 197.90 and 148.30, respectively.

In the relays, UW-Oshkosh's quartet of Challoner, Halkola, Lutz and Panske finished sixth in the 200-yard medley event with a time of 1:57.64.

UW-Oshkosh participates against Carroll University next Saturday (Oct. 28) in Waukesha.
