Titans Earn 14 Top-20 Results At Wisconsin College Showcase

Katie Challoner, Taylor Teske and Gabrielle Kraus all produced top-10 results to lead the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team at the season-opening Wisconsin College Showcase on Saturday (Oct. 24) in Brown Deer.

The Titans had 12 individuals and two relay teams place in the top 20 at the non-scoring showcase.

Challoner had top-nine showings in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. She finished a team-best sixth in the 100-yard race with a time of 1:09.59 and ninth in the 200-yard competition with a time of 2:32.74.

Jennifer Kordik from NCAA Division I UW-Milwaukee won both breaststroke races, finishing the 100-yard distance with a time of 1:07.64 and the 200-yard event in 2:27.03. In addition to Challoner, UW-Oshkosh's Katie Kubisiak placed 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke race with a time of 1:12.41 and 14th at 200 yards in 2:39.90.

Teske and Kraus both placed 10th in the 100-yard backstroke and 3-meter diving, respectively. Teske finished with a time of 1:01.39, while Kraus totaled 211.15 points. Kraus also produced 195.35 points on the 1-meter board to earn 14th place, and Teske also finished 17th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.92.

The Titans finished 11th in the 200-yard medley relay and 16th in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The 200-yard medley quartet of Challoner, McKinzie Halkola, Alison Panske and Teske finished with a time of 1:55.99, while the 400-yard freestyle squad of Paige Burgess, Casey Houts, Panske and Teske ended with a time of 3:58.84.

UW-Oshkosh's top-20 individual showings included divers Sally Hesby and Colleen Barnstable. Hesby was 13th in 3-meter diving with 201 points, while Barnstable ended 15th on the 1-meter board with 167.85 points and 16th on the 1-meter plank with 152.20.

Rounding out the Titans' top-20 individual finishers was Laura Sullivan in 17th place in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:35.96.

UW-Oshkosh heads to Waukesha to take on Carroll University next Saturday (Oct. 31).
