Titans Lose Opening Dual Meet Of Season

Katie Challoner won an event and Janelle Sharpee added a runner-up finish as the UW-Oshkosh women's swimming & diving team fell by a 156-48 count to Carroll University on Saturday (Oct. 31) in Waukesha.

Challoner earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.70, while UW-Oshkosh's Katie Kubisiak finished third in 1:12.89.

Carroll University claimed each of the remaining 10 events and produced the top three finishers in the 50- and 200-yard freestyle races as well as the 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Eight different Pioneers won individual events.

Sharpee finished second in the 500-yard freestyle race with a time of 6:00.01, trailing Hannah Egan's winning time of 5:47.27 for Carroll University.

Also placing third for the Titans were McKinzie Halkola in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.51), Casey Houts in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:25.34), Alison Panske on the 100-yard freestyle (59.03), and the 200-yard medley relay team of Challoner, Halkola, Houts and Panske (2:01.75).

UW-Oshkosh travels to UW-Whitewater for a dual meet on Nov. 13.
