Titans Outscored By Blugolds In Home Opener

UW-Oshkosh had three individual winners during its 153-84 women's swimming & diving loss to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday (Nov. 21) in Albee Hall.

Katie Challoner won the 200-yard breaststroke for the Titans with her time of 2:30.84. She also swam with McKinzie Halkola, Alison Panske and Taylor Teske to win the 400-yard medley relay with a performance of 4:12.99.

UW-Oshkosh's Sally Hesby recorded a pair of top-two finishes in the diving. She tallied 236.63 points to win the competition off the 1-meter board and scored 252.08 points to place second off the 3-meter plank.

The Titans' Casey Houts won the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 10:42.50. She also swam with Paige Burgess, Sarah Gee and Janelle Sharpee to finish third in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:55.25.

UW-Oshkosh had three other second-place finishers as Halkola and Katie Kubisiak marked times of 2:20.82 in the 200-yard backstroke and 2:36.67 in the 200-yard breaststroke, respectively. Gabrielle Kraus ranked second to Hesby in the 1-meter diving with a value of 234.60 points.

The Titans rounded out their third-place finishes with the efforts of Gee and Kraus. Gee swam to a time of 5:59.59 in the 500-yard freestyle while Kraus counted 213.75 points in the 3-meter diving.

Saturday's meet was the first of two at home for the Titans this season.

UW-Oshkosh is off until it participates at the Rochester Invitational on Dec. 5-6 in Rochester, Minn.
