Titans Win Three Events In Loss To Warhawks

Sally Hesby won two events and Taylor Teske one during UW-Oshkosh's 170-73 loss to the UW-Whitewater women's swimming and diving team on Friday (Nov. 14) in Albee Hall.

Hesby earned both of her victories in the diving competition. She took first place off the 1-meter board with 216.25 points and the 3-meter plank with 209.50.

Teske claimed her win by swimming to a time of 1:03.16 in the 100-yard backstroke. She also finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a value of 26.32.

UW-Whitewater owned the winner in the remaining 10 events, including the 100-yard butterfly where Michaela Matthys established an Albee Hall record with her first-place time of 57.09.

UW-Oshkosh received second-place finishes from Britney Hilgendorf in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:42.32 and Colleen Barnstable in the 1-meter diving with a score of 180.15.

The Titans also posted second-place relay times of 4:18.98 in the 400-yard medley and 4:02.28 in the 400-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh's Katie Challoner and Madeline Langlotz both placed third in two events. Challoner marked efforts of 1:09.29 in the 100-yard breaststroke and 5:07.27 in the 400-yard individual medley, while Langlotz tallied freestyle performances of 59.03 at 100 yards and 2:09.76 at 200.

The Titans also received third-place performances of 1:06.23 in the 100-yard butterfly from McKinzie Halkola, 11:53.32 in the 1,000-yard freestyle from Casey Houts and 5:41.30 from Abigail Langlotz in the 500-yard freestyle.

Finishing fourth for UW-Oshkosh were Barnstable in the 3-meter diving (138.90), Halkola in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.58), Hilgendorf in the 400-yard individual medley (5:10.33), Houts in the 500-yard freestyle (5:50.10) and Sara Keller in the 100-yard butterfly (1:10.06).

The Titans' next competition is at the Rochester Invitational on Dec. 6-7 in Rochester, Minn.
