Booth, Hilgendorf Paces Titans At Pointer Invitational
Allison Booth (So. • Middleton) scored a season-best 319.10 on the one-meter dive as UW-Oshkosh placed fifth at the Pointer Women’s Swimming & Diving Invitational on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 20-21) in Stevens Point.
UW-La Crosse earned the team title with 1,150.5 points, while
UW-Eau Claire came in second with 783. UW-Stevens Point listed
third at 765.5, along with Minnesota State University-Mankato in
fourth at 594 and the Titans fifth at 272.
Booth’s one-meter dive was good enough for seventh place, as
Anna Nyland (UW-Stevens Point) won the event with 408.15 points.
The Titans also had Cassie Dutko (Jr. • Oshkosh) earn 10th on
the three-meter board with a 292.95 tally.
UW-Oshkosh’s top individual finish came from Britney Hilgendorf’s (Fr. • Madison) sixth-place time of 19:15.06 in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Emily Shandley (Jr. • Oak Creek) then earned seventh in the 100-yard freestyle at 56.23, while Samantha Sommers (Sr. • Suamico) listed seventh in the 200-yard butterfly after 2:22.31.
The Titans’ trio of eighth-place scores included
Hilgendorf’s mark of 5:05.41 in the 400-yard individual
medley and Shandley’s 2:07.09 figure in the 200-yard
freestyle. Melissa Harvey (Sr. • Kingsford, Mich.) wrapped up
the top-eight results with her 2:19.32 in the 200-yard
backstroke.
UW-Oshkosh’s next challenge will be at Ripon College on Feb.
