Titans Clean Up Vikings

UW-Oshkosh captured two relay titles and had five individual winners as it recorded a 136-83 win over the Lawrence University women’s swimming and diving team on Wednesday (Jan. 27) in Appleton.

The Titans opened up the successful day with victories by the 200-yard relay team in 2:00.23 and the 200-yard freestyle relay squad in 1:49.75. Cassie Dutko (Fr. • Oshkosh) then tacked on a win in the three-meter diving with a score of 176.50.

Emily Shandley (Fr. • Oak Creek) earned first in the 50-yard freestyle with a 26.76, as did Molly Zahour (Sr. • Cedarburg) in the 1,000-yard free style at 11:48.02. Other wins came from Lynnea Krajco (Sr. • Verona) at 1:04.47 in the 100-yard backstroke and Angie Picotte (Sr. • Andover, Minn.) at 1:15.37 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

A pair of second-place showings came from Katie Duffey (Fr. • McFarland), who posted a 27.27 in the 50-yard freestyle and a 1:07.39 in the 100-yard backstroke. Krajco finished second in the 200-yard freestyle at 2:05.41, along with Zahour in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:33.46 and Dutko in the one-meter dive with 172.05 points.

Picotte grabbed a second-place listing with her time of 5:40.14 in the 500-yard freestyle. Heather Statz (Jr. • Sun Prairie) added a finish of second with a 59.68 in the 100-yard freestyle and a third-place posting with her 2:35.51 in the 200-yard individual medley. Emma Nametz (Sr. • Madison) also earned second with her 1:13.13 in the 100-yard butterfly.

Melissa Harvey (So. • Iron Mountain, Mich.) accounted for two third-place tallies after her 1:21.26 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 2:08.21 in the 200-yard freestyle. Susan Curtis (Sr. • Cambridge, Minn.) came in third during the 100-yard freestyle at 1:01.15, in addition to Jana Krautkramer (Sr. • Marathon) with a 1:15.92 in the 100-yard butterfly and Emily Shandley (Fr. • Oak Creek) with a 5:40.38 in the 500-yard freestyle.
