Titans Sign Newest Member Of Team

OSHKOSH, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh women's soccer signed its newest member this season, officially welcoming Titan Hallie Johnson to the team.

The Titans paired up with Team IMPACT, which is a nationwide organization that pairs children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved. Their goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for a child and their family to connect with a college athletic team and the local campus community.

Hallie is nine years old and lives in Oshkosh with her parents Amanda and Aaron, and younger sister Kinsley. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2021 and has now completed intensive chemo and is currently in her maintenance phase. She loves to be outside, play with LEGOs, read books, especially Harry Potter, really enjoys fruit and smoothies, and is excited to be part of the team.

"We are super excited to have Hallie Johnson join our team this year through Team IMPACT." Coach Coppernoll said. "This is such a great way to connect and be real with someone whose life we can learn from.  Hallie will forever remind us to be young and live each day to the fullest."

Hallie has already been on the sidelines of two matches this season and has participated in off-field activities such as getting smoothies and singing karaoke with the team in the locker room as well as getting in on the fun during the team's media day before the season began. Before the season ends, she plans to join the team for an arts and crafts night, an outing to a mini golf course and be on the sidelines at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium to cheer on her favorite soccer team.

The Titans will be raising money for the Children's Cancer Family Foundation in Reeve Union on the UW-Oshkosh campus every Thursday during the month of October and for the remainder of their home matches this season.
