Women’s Soccer Falls in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Kalamazoo College (Mich.) at MacKenzie Field on Friday (Sept. 22) in their first of two games in Michigan.

The Titans were held to 10 shots and four on goal against the Hornets' 18 and nine. Gabriella Mattio (four) and Mackenzie Stein (three) each registered more than one shot and two on goal. Starting goalkeeper Ella Sasse saved the only shot on goal she faced, while Emma Sauriol saved five of the eight that she saw.

After the match remained scoreless after the first half, the Hornets scored twice in five minutes. Amalia Scorsone scored the first goal on an assist from Ellie Andrews in the 64th minute and Maddie Coffman assisted Elle Bernas in the 69th.

Mattio and Ariana Gonzalez both attempted shots in the last 10 minutes of the match, however neither were on goal.

Anna Murphy extended Kalamazoo's lead to three scores unassisted in the 90th minute.

The Titans will wrap up their weekend trip to Michigan on Saturday (Sept. 23), when they face Albion College on Alumni Field at 4 p.m. CT.
