UWO Falls To Knights In Home Opener

Calvin University (Mich.) got goals from six different players during a 6-0 win over UW-Oshkosh in a battle of previously unbeaten women's soccer teams Friday (Sept. 9) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Calvin (3-0-0) scored four goals in the first half and added two more in the second half during the home opener for UW-Oshkosh (2-1-1). The Knights have now outscored their opponents, 9-0, on the year while UW-Oshkosh has scored 21 goals and allowed six this season.

The Knights never looked back after a Tatum Goodling goal off of a Sophie Mueller assist 4:54 into the contest. Mia Judd, Kaitlyn Van Laare and Elizabeth Williams followed with goal for a 4-0 lead at intermission. Mueller and Karley Michmerhuizen capped the scoring with goals during the second half for Calvin.

Calvin goalkeeper Kalex Dodge's clean sheet featured two saves.

Maris Heun and Molly Jackson accounted for the UW-Oshkosh shots on goal. Greta Steines chipped in two of the Titans' six overall shots in the contest.

UW-Oshkosh travels to Marian University on Sunday (Sept. 11).
