Bennett Receives Another WIAC Weekly Soccer Award

UW-Oshkosh junior Mackenzie Bennett was chosen as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for matches held Oct. 25-31. It is Bennett's third WIAC weekly award this season, following her selections for the periods of Sept. 27-Oct. 3 and Oct. 18-24.

Bennett, a defender, headed a 4-yard shot into the goal off a Rylie Kaufmann corner kick during the sixth minute (95:18) of overtime as UW-Oshkosh defeated visiting UW-River Falls, 1-0, in the Titans' regular season finale on Oct. 30.

Bennett attempted three shots in the match, including two on goal, while helping limit UW-River Falls to just two shots and three corner kick opportunities. The Falcons had only one shot on goal.

UW-Oshkosh's shutout was its ninth of the season.

UW-Oshkosh defeated all seven of its WIAC opponents this season to capture its first outright league championship and second title overall. The Titans concluded the regular season with a 14-2-1 record.

UW-Stout midfielder Rachel Younker was recognized as the WIAC Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week.
