Titans Shut Out Blue Devils To Keep Conference Record Perfect

UW-Oshkosh held UW-Stout without a shot on goal as the Titans remained unbeaten in three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer matches with their 2-0 victory over the Blue Devils Saturday (Oct. 9) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

UW-Oshkosh, which previously defeated WIAC rivals UW-Eau Claire and UW-Stevens Point by 2-1 scores, improved its league record to 3-0 for the first time since the 2015 season. Saturday's victory also gave the Titans (10-2-1) their 10th straight win at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Molly Jackson converted a 12-yard kick in the first half and Mallory Knight a 15-yard boot in the second to account for UW-Oshkosh's scoring against UW-Stout (9-4-1, 1-1 WIAC).

Jackson gave the Titans a 1-0 lead with her goal during the 28th minute (28:00) of action. Jackson's third goal of the year followed a pass from Alyssa Gunderson.

UW-Oshkosh maintained its one-goal advantage until Knight scored in the contest's 63rd minute (62:57). Knight's team-leading sixth goal of the season was assisted by Alayna Clark.

The Titans launched 15 shots against UW-Stout, including nine in the second period. Jackson and Knight both attempted three shots while Greta Hanthorn, Maddie Hill and Rylie Kaufmann fired two apiece.

UW-Oshkosh, which has held seven of this year's 13 opponents to six shots or less, limited UW-Stout to just five shots on Saturday. The Blue Devils were led by Anna Herzog's two shots.

UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Erin Toomey didn't face a Blue Devil shot while protecting the Titan net for all 90 minutes. Toomey has given up just seven goals during her 922 minutes of action this season.

UW-Stout goalkeeper Haley Vokaty also played the entire match. Her performance included five saves.

Saturday's shutout victory was UW-Oshkosh's seventh of the season. The Titans have outscored their opponents, 37-8, this year while posting advantages of 249-88 in shots and 137-38 in shots on goal.

UW-Oshkosh is 4-0-1 in its last five matches against UW-Stout and 22-4-7 against the Blue Devils overall.

The Titans are off until they visit UW-Platteville (6-2-3, 0-2-1 WIAC) next Saturday (Oct. 16).
