Titans, Vikings Play To Overtime Tie
The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team allowed a late second-half goal and settled for a 1-1 overtime result with Lawrence University on Monday (Sept. 27) in Appleton.
UW-Oshkosh (7-2-1) grabbed an early 1-0 lead when Piper Green scored on a 2-yard kick just 10:29 into play. Green's fourth goal of the season followed a pass from Alayna Clark.
The Titans held their one-goal advantage until Lawrence University's Samantha Tolu scored on a 16-yard kick with 10:34 left in the second period. Ellie Younger assisted on Tolu's third goal of the year.
In overtime, UW-Oshkosh launched the only shot in the two 10-minute periods – a 10-yard kick by Mallory Knight that bounced off the right post with 4:03 left in the opening session.
UW-Oshkosh finished the contest with 10 shots, including five in the first half. Knight and Molly Jackson paced the Titans with three shots apiece.
Lawrence University (5-4-1) was held to just two shots, attempts by Madi Jones in the first half and Tolu in the second.
Goalkeeper Emma Sauriol guarded the UW-Oshkosh net for all 110 minutes. Sauriol allowed the only shot she faced to score.

Monday's tie was the first in 18 matches between UW-Oshkosh and Lawrence University. The tie also snapped the Titans' 12-game winning streak in the rivalry.
UW-Oshkosh visits UW-Eau Claire (5-2-2) on Saturday (Oct. 2) for the first of its seven Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matches.
