Women’s Soccer Receives Team Academic Award

Members of the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer program compiled a 3.29 grade-point average during the 2012-13 school year to earn a Team Academic Award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

UW-Oshkosh, which also received the award in 2008 and 2012, was one of 598 four-year schools recognized for having its women's soccer team surpass the qualifying GPA of 3.0. The award runs a year behind the competition calendar since it also includes academic results from the spring semester.

Other WIAC schools cited for their excellence in the classroom were UW-Eau Claire (3.36), UW-La Crosse (3.45), UW-Platteville (3.06), UW-Superior (3.12) and UW-Whitewater (3.21).

Felician College (N.J.) posted a 3.78 GPA to lead all schools receiving the award, which was instituted in 1996.

Head coach Erin Coppernoll's Titans finished the 2012 season with an 11-5-3 record, including a fourth-place 4-2-2 mark in the WIAC.
