Beckerleg, Elliott Are All-Region Soccer Honorees

UW-Oshkosh junior defender Anna Beckerleg and freshman midfielder Robyn Elliott were second-team selections on the 2013 NCAA Division III All-North Region Women's Soccer Team.

A total of 34 players were named to the three teams, including five from The College of St. Scholastica (Minn.) and four from UW-Whitewater. The squad, which was chosen by members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, also featured one player from UW-Platteville.

Voted to the first team were goalkeeper Jordan Myers and midfielders Sara Sedlar and Jenna Woodson from UW-Whitewater, defender Zoe Kurth and forward Katie Vanden Avond from St. Norbert College, midfielder Laura Prosinski from Concordia-Moorhead College (Minn.), forward Michelle Greeneway from Lake Forest College (Ill.), defender Kinsey Campbell from Loras College (Iowa), forward Georgia Cloepfil from Macalester College (Minn.), forward Colleen Bouchard from The College of St. Benedict (Minn.) and defender Logan Williamson from The College of St. Scholastica.

Beckerleg started all 21 matches in being named the 2013 WIAC Defensive Player of the Year. She anchored a defense that shut out eight opponents and recorded a 1.15 goals against average. Beckerleg also scored three goals, including match-winners against North Park University (Ill.) on Sept. 14 and Concordia University Wisconsin on Oct. 14.

Elliott also started all 21 matches. Her rookie season featured four goals, four assists and 12 points. Elliott scored the match-winning goal in consecutive contests against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 9 and UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 12.

UW-Oshkosh increased its list of all-region performers to 13 with the additions of Beckerleg and Elliott. The group includes three-time honorees Michelle John (2004-06) and Lindsay Rau (2001-03).

The Titans ended the 2013 season with an 11-8-2 record, including a second-place 6-2 mark in the WIAC.
