Titans Continue Dominance Of Yellowjackets

The UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team shut out UW-Superior for the 12th consecutive match with a 5-0 victory on Saturday (Sept. 28) at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The Titans (4-5-1/2-1 WIAC), who are unbeaten in 21 matches against the Yellowjackets (3-7/0-2 WIAC), were led by the two second-half goals from Chelsea Kierszh.

Kierszh scored off a cross from Megan White during the 52nd minute (51:29) of play to give UW-Oshkosh a 3-0 lead. She then closed the Titans' scoring with a header off a cross from Rachel Elliott in the 74th minute (73:09).

Nikki Mann got things going for the Titans with a 30-yard free kick in the game's fourth minute (3:45). Amanda Baalke then kicked home a loose ball in front of the goal at the 13:00 mark to give UW-Oshkosh a 2-0 advantage.

UW-Oshkosh received its fourth goal of the match from Christina Mauthe. Her score in the 58th minute (57:40) followed passes from Ashley Nicholas and Baalke.

The Titans fired 33 shots, including a game-high five by Kierszh and four by both Robyn Elliott and Kali Jahn. UW-Oshkosh owned a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.

UW-Superior was held to just four shots, with on-goal efforts by Katelyn Adams, Emily Ball and Rachel Wallace.

Katie Berkopec saved three shots while guarding the UW-Oshkosh goal for the first 72 minutes. Nina Muzi was unchallenged over the last 18 minutes.

UW-Superior goalkeeper Kalea Hatlewick stopped 16 shots while allowing all five goals.

UW-Oshkosh remains at its home venue to host St. Norbert College on Tuesday (Oct. 1).
