Titans Unable To Cage Falcons

Brittany Klumpp scored the winning goal in the 54th minute of play as the Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team defeated nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh, 1-0, on Monday (Oct. 8) in Mequon.

Klumpp gave the Falcons their margin of victory with her goal at the 53:37 mark of the contest. Credited with an assist on Klumpp's team-leading 12th goal of the season was Carley Pfannerstill.

Concordia University Wisconsin (11-4) outshot UW-Oshkosh, 16-14. The Falcons were led by the seven shots of Lauren Straehler and the four of Pfannerstill. The Titans (8-2-3) were paced by the five shots of Becca Blue (Sr. • Kimberly) and the two of Carly Roiniotis (Sr. • Pleasant Prairie).

UW-Oshkosh owned a 5-3 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Goalkeeper Samantha Anacker saved eight shots to help Concordia University Wisconsin beat UW-Oshkosh for the first time in 12 meetings (1-10-1 record).

Nina Muzi (Fr. • Waukesha) had seven goalkeeping saves for the Titans, which entered the match ranked 24th in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

UW-Oshkosh welcomes Marian University to J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 10).
