Titans Take Down Green Knights With Late Goal
Amanda Leach (Jr. • Waukesha) scored with 92 seconds left to give the UW-Oshkosh women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over St. Norbert College on Monday (Oct. 3) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
Leach tallied her second goal of the season on a six-yard shot from the center of the field. Credited with an assist on Leach's score was Kelsey Daulton (Fr. • Elk River, Minn.).
UW-Oshkosh (6-5) attempted 17 shots, with seven of them saved by St. Norbert College goalkeeper Sarah Platzer. The Green Knights also had their defensive backs save two shots.
UW-Oshkosh, which earned all 14 of the game's corner kicks, was led by the four shots of Becca Blue (Jr. • Kimberly) and the three of both Leach and Chelsea Kierszh (So. • Oshkosh).
St. Norbert College, which suffered its sixth straight loss to UW-Oshkosh, attempted eight shots. Zoe Kurth launched three shots and Katie Vanden Avond two to lead the Green Knights.
UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Katie Berkopec (So. • Apple Valley, Minn.) saved four shots to record her second career shutout. The Titans also had a defender register a save.
UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Platteville in a WIAC encounter on Saturday (Oct. 8) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
